Tributes

A wall for the people and moments we choose to carry forward.

The GroundCrew tribute wall is a place for remembrance, gratitude, milestones, and living legacies — told through names, photographs, stories, and trees.

Some tributes honor someone who is gone. Others celebrate someone still here. All of them begin with the same idea: this person, this moment, this life mattered.

Living tribute through a planted tree
Memory can keep growing. A name. A story. A tree. A place to return. A living reminder that someone mattered here.
01 / HONOR

Say their name.

Give a person, family, milestone, or memory a visible place within the GroundCrew community.

02 / TELL

Share what mattered.

A few honest lines, a photograph, a memory, or one detail can say more than a formal biography ever could.

03 / GROW

Connect memory to life.

A tribute can stand on its own or become part of a living memorial through tree planting and stewardship.

The wall

Every name has a story behind it.

The wall below is structured for approved creator-submitted tributes. The first permanent tribute is Dawne; additional cards can be populated from SQL Server as submissions are reviewed.

1 tribute
A living legacy

Dawne

Loved, remembered, and still part of what grows next. Her memory is woven into the beginning of GroundCrew and its belief that remembrance can become care.

In Memory

A future tribute belongs here.

Once approved submissions are connected to the wall, memorial stories can populate this space automatically.

In Honor

Honor someone while they are here.

Celebrate a parent, mentor, friend, teacher, caregiver, neighbor, or someone whose life has helped something good grow.

Milestone

Mark a moment with roots.

Births, anniversaries, recoveries, graduations, new beginnings, and family milestones can become living tributes.

Community

Remember a shared story.

Honor a school, neighborhood, team, organization, community member, or event that mattered to more than one person.

Your Story

Add a name to the wall.

Create a tribute, share the story behind it, and choose whether to connect that tribute to a living memorial tree.

Publishing standard: creator-submitted tributes should be reviewed before publication. Preserve the contributor's voice, obtain permission for submitted photographs, and avoid displaying private contact information or sensitive personal details on the public wall.
Ways to honor

A tribute does not have to begin with loss.

The wall can hold many reasons for remembering and recognizing the people and moments that shape us.

In Memory

Remember someone who has passed.

Share a name, photograph, memory, story, or living memorial connected to someone you continue to carry with you.

In Honor

Celebrate someone now.

Recognize a person whose love, care, teaching, friendship, service, or presence deserves to be acknowledged.

Milestones

Give an important moment roots.

Mark a birth, anniversary, graduation, recovery, new chapter, family event, or another meaningful turning point.

Community

Honor something shared.

Remember a local story, organization, school, neighborhood, group, project, or person whose impact belongs to many people.

Create a tribute

Tell us who you want the wall to remember.

A tribute can be simple. Start with the person's name, the reason they matter, and a few words you want to remain attached to their memory or honor.

When the submission form is built, it can also accept an approved photograph, location, tree information, and an optional connection to a GroundCrew memorial planting.

01

Name: the person, family, group, or milestone being honored.

02

Story: a few lines or a longer reflection about why the tribute matters.

03

Photograph: an image you have permission to publish, if you want one included.

04

Living memorial: optionally connect the tribute to a tree or planting request.

The GroundCrew tribute wall

Some names deserve a place where they can keep being spoken.

Honor them with a story. Remember them with a tree. Give the people and moments that shaped you somewhere to remain visible.
