Get involved

You do not need a big plan.
You need a place to start.

GroundCrew is built around participation at human scale. Plant one tree. Help on a project day. Share a story. Support a school. Sponsor a memorial. Bring your business into the work.

There is no single right way to join. What matters is putting care into something real and helping it keep growing.

People getting involved with GroundCrew tree planting
01 / PLANT

Put a tree in the ground.

Start at home, plant for someone, or help identify a place where another healthy tree could make a difference.

02 / SHOW UP

Give the work your time.

Volunteer at planting days, help with site work, support events, or return later to water and care for new trees.

03 / MULTIPLY

Help the idea travel.

Share stories, sponsor projects, involve your school or organization, or bring GroundCrew into your business or community.

Start where you are

Participation can be one afternoon or a long-term commitment.

GroundCrew works because people can enter the mission in different ways. The person planting one memorial tree matters. So does the volunteer carrying mulch, the school organizing a project, and the business helping fund it.

01

Use your hands.

Plant, dig, water, mulch, move materials, help prepare a site, or assist with post-planting care.

02

Use your place.

Offer an appropriate planting site, identify a school or community need, or help connect GroundCrew with an approved property.

03

Use your voice.

Tell a planting story, photograph a project, share what you learned, or help another person understand why trees matter.

04

Use your reach.

Bring in a school, business, neighborhood, sponsor, organization, or group that can help the work move farther.

Stewardship

Planting is the beginning of the responsibility.

A young tree needs more than a good planting day. One of the most useful ways to get involved is helping a tree through establishment.

That can mean watering through dry periods, checking mulch, watching for damage, removing conflicts, or simply returning often enough to notice when something has changed.

01

Water.

Help maintain a practical watering rhythm during establishment, especially through heat and dry periods.

02

Monitor.

Look for damage, stress, poor drainage, vandalism, drought, or other problems before they become larger.

03

Maintain.

Keep mulch, stakes, guards, and the area around the trunk appropriate as the tree settles into the site.

04

Return.

Visit the tree again. Stewardship becomes meaningful when someone keeps paying attention after the event is over.

Bring people with you

One person can start it. A group can help it travel.

GroundCrew can become part of a school, neighborhood, workplace, dealership, faith community, family tradition, or local organization.

Families

Plant for a reason.

Celebrate, remember, teach, restore, or create a living tradition around planting and care.

Schools

Turn a campus into a classroom.

Build projects around shade, stewardship, science, habitat, student participation, and long-term care.

Businesses

Support visible local action.

Sponsor trees, fund projects, engage employees and customers, or create an ongoing GroundCrew partnership.

Communities

Grow canopy together.

Bring neighbors, volunteers, site owners, and local partners around practical planting in shared places.

Not sure where you fit?

Start with what you can offer right now.

You do not need to arrive with a project proposal. Start with the useful thing you already have: a place, a few hours, a story, a business, a school, a tree that needs care, or someone you want to remember.

01

I have a place. Start a planting request and tell us about the site.

02

I have time. Follow GroundCrew projects and look for ways to help on the ground.

03

I have a story. Contribute to Stories from the Ground.

04

I have reach or resources. Explore partnerships, sponsorships, and community projects.

Get involved

Start small. Show up. Leave something growing.

Plant one tree. Help one project. Tell one story. Care for one place. Bring one more person into the work.
